HB 1812 -- Same-Sex Marriages Sponsor: Akin This bill declares it to be the public policy of Missouri to recognize marriage only between a man and a woman and prohibits the issuance of a marriage license to other than a man and a woman. Same-sex marriage will not be recognized in Missouri even if valid where contracted. This statute was declared procedurally unconstitutional in its original passage.
