HB 1814 -- Private Jails

This bill contains provisions regarding private jails.
No private provider may establish a private jail with a
community unless the provider:
(1) Furnishes law enforcement, hospitals, and fire districts
with formal notification of the intent to establish a private
jail;
(2) Holds public hearings;
(3) Submits an operational plan to the city or county in which
the provider plans to operate;
(4) Provides the city or county with documentation of its
management's qualifications; and
(5) Provides evidence of the provider's ability to indemnify
for liability arising from the operation of the private jail.
