HB 1897 -- Exemptions from Attachments
Sponsor: O'Toole
This bill adds deferred compensation accounts of state employees
to the list of property that is exempt from any order of
attachment or execution. (Attachment is the process by which a
court places a lien upon the property of a party in a lawsuit to
ensure that damages can be paid by that party. Execution is
where the court actually seizes such property for the benefit of
the prevailing party.)
