HB 1905 -- Sales/Use Tax and Fees for Motor Vehicles

Sponsor:  Abel

This bill exempts the first $5,000 on the purchase, rental, or
lease of motor vehicles from state and local sales and use taxes.

The bill also increases the fees charged for all motor vehicle
and trailer registrations, transfer of ownerships, most drive-
away licenses, special personalized license plates, certificates
of ownership, instruction permits, commercial driver's licenses,
driver's licenses, and duplicate licenses by $12.50 per
transaction.
