HJR 56 -- Governor's Power of Commutation and Reprieve

Sponsor:  Scott

This proposed constitutional amendment limits the Governor's
power to grant commutations of sentences and reprieves in death
penalty cases.  Commutations and reprieves would be valid for no
more than 30 days without the written recommendation and advice
of the Board of Probation and Parole.
