HJR 68 -- Highways and Transportation Commission

This proposed constitutional amendment changes the membership of
the Highways and Transportation Commission from 6 to 10
members.  Six members will be appointed by the Governor with the
advice and consent of the Senate with not more than 3 from the
same political party.  Two members will be appointed by the
Speaker of the House of Representative and 2 by the President
Pro-Tem of the Senate.  One each appointed by the Speaker and
President Pro-Tem must reside in any metropolitan statistical
area with a population of 600,000 persons and one each must
reside in any county with a population of less than 30,000
persons.
