AN ACT
Relating to health care services.
Section 1. 1. If a health care provider receives a payment from a patient, insurance company or any third party for services rendered on an account which has been turned over to a collection entity, the health care provider shall inform such collection entity of the receipt of a payment.
2. Nonpayment for services rendered to a patient by a health care provider shall not be placed on the patient's credit report, if:
(1) An insurance company or other third-party payor, on behalf of the patient, is responsible for the payment of services rendered to the patient by a health care provider; and
(2) The insurance company or third-party payor fails to make the payment for any reason other than a nonpayment caused by an act of the patient.
Section 2. Every health carrier, as defined in section 376.1350, RSMo, that offers pharmaceutical coverage shall
provide enrollees with a ninety-day supply of medication prescribed for chronic illnesses if such quantity is
authorized by a licensed physician. Coverage pursuant to this section shall be subject to the same deductible and
co-payment as apply to other prescriptions in the policy, contract or plan.
