AN ACT
To repeal section 301.420, RSMo 1994, relating to filing false information, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to the same subject, with penalty provisions.
Section A. Section 301.420, RSMo 1994, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 301.420, to read as follows:
301.420. 1. No person shall willfully or knowingly make a false statement in any application for the registration of a motor vehicle or trailer, or as a dealer, or in an application for or assignment of a certificate of ownership. All blanks or forms issued by the director of revenue for the purpose of making application for registration of certificate of ownership shall conspicuously bear on the face thereof the following words: "Any false statement in this application is a violation of the law and may be punished by fine or imprisonment or both".
2. Any person who furnishes false, bogus or misleading information to the director of revenue is guilty of a class D felony. Any other violation of this section is a class A misdemeanor.
3. The director of revenue, upon verifying that false statements or information has been submitted in any
application for the registration of a motor vehicle or trailer, or as a dealer, or in any application for or assignment
or a certificate of ownership, shall reject the application, and void any title or license issued.
