AN ACT

To amend chapter 168, RSMo, relating to educational personnel by adding thereto one new section relating to illegal use or possession of controlled substances by educational personnel.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Chapter 168, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 168.113, to read as follows:

168.113. A school district may terminate the contract of any teacher or nonteacher employee of any public school if the teacher or employee admits to the illegal possession or use of any controlled substance, as that term is defined in chapter 195, RSMo, regardless of whether or not the teacher or employee was convicted of illegal possession or use of the substance.
