To repeal section 53.135, RSMo 1994, relating to travel expenses for assessors in certain counties, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to the same subject.
Section A. Section 53.135, RSMo 1994, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 53.135, to read as follows:
53.135. The county assessor in counties of the third and fourth [classes] classification shall be allowed a reimbursement
for actual and necessary travel expenses incurred in the performance of his or her official duties within the county at the
rate [of fifteen cents per mile] allowed pursuant to subsection 10 of section 50.333, RSMo, payable monthly upon the
filing of a statement by the assessor with the county commission showing the actual and necessary miles traveled during the
month, [except that the total reimbursement received by any assessor in one year shall not exceed two thousand two
hundred fifty dollars,] to be paid out of the county treasury.
