HCS SB 1020 -- HIGHWAY NAMING AND DIRECTIONAL SIGNS

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Transportation by a vote of 18 to 4.

This substitute designates a portion of Interstate 44 in Springfield as the "Payne Stewart Highway," a portion of Interstate 64 located within the City of St. Louis as the "Kurt Warner Rams Road," and a portion of Interstate 55, one mile south of Lindbergh Boulevard to Butler Hill Road, as the "Rosa Parks Highway."

This substitute also authorizes the erection of directional signs for Vatterott College locations.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill gives recognition to one of Missouri's greatest golfers.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Bentley.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
