HB 458 -- USE OF WARNING SIGNALS CO-SPONSORS: Lawson, Myers, Barnett COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Critical Issues, Consumer Protection and Housing by a vote of 17 to 0. This bill allows flashing warning lights to be used on church buses. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that use of signals by church buses is a matter of safety and that children are accustomed to having cars stop when they exit a school bus. Also, many of these buses, being old school buses, are already equipped with signals. Testifying for the bill was Representative Lawson. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
