HB 78 -- IMMUNITY REPORTING
CO-SPONSORS: Kennedy, Richardson
COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Professional Registration and Licensing by a vote of 15 to 0.
This bill includes physicians' health programs among the persons
and agencies which are immune from liability for providing
information to the Board of Healing Arts regarding licensees or
applicants for license during the course of an investigation.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill is needed to protect
persons working in substance abuse programs from civil liability.
Testifying for the bill were Representative Kennedy; and
Missouri State Medical Association.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
