HB 881 -- NURSING HOME DISTRICTS

CO-SPONSORS:  Scott, Crawford, Henderson

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 17 to 0.

Under current law, nursing home directors are elected within
districts.  This bill allows the directors to be elected
at-large or within districts.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that rural areas are having
difficulty finding people to serve on nursing home district
boards.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Scott.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
