SB 7 -- MUNICIPAL BUSINESS DISTRICTS
SPONSOR: Scott
COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Local
Government and Related Matters by a vote of 18 to 0.
This bill repeals the requirement that notices of hearings on

district be mailed by registered or certified mail with return
receipt attached, and allows the notices to be sent by regular
mail.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill cuts costs for cities
and counties. Hearing notices do not need to be sent by
registered mail.
Testifying for the bill was Senator Scott.
