HB 132 -- Collaborative Action Team for Schools Sponsor: Gambaro This bill creates a pilot program for unaccredited or provisionally accredited school districts to improve academic success; increase parental involvement; reduce violence, gang activity, substance abuse, and teen pregnancy; and increase after-hours family activities at school. The collaborative action team for each school in the district will be drawn from parents, grandparents, volunteers, and teachers, among others. The team will develop and prioritize goals related to the purposes of the bill and determine if funds are necessary. If funds are required for full implementation, the team will apply for a grant from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The department may fund the grants from existing critical needs funds, professional development funds, or the collaborative action team fund, which the bill creates.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
