HB 284 -- Criminal Procedure

This bill prohibits the introduction at criminal trials of any
information or statements obtained during custodial
interrogations of persons who have mental retardation unless an
attorney was present during the interrogation.  The bill also
requires an interviewer to make reasonable efforts to notify the
parents, guardians, or protectors of persons who have mental
retardation prior to the interrogation.
