HB 49 -- Policemen and Sheriff's Deputies Trust Fund

This bill creates the Policemen and Sheriff's Deputies Trust
Fund, which consists of appropriations made by the General
Assembly to meet minimum salary requirements for full-time
policemen and sheriff's deputies in certain political
subdivisions.  The bill establishes the minimum salary for full--
time policemen and sheriff's deputies at $20,000 per year by
2002.  A political subdivision is eligible for moneys from the
fund if it paid its full-time policemen or sheriff's deputies
less than $20,000 on January 1, 2001.

The fund terminates on July 1, 2005.
