HB 700 -- Driver's License

Beginning January 1, 2002, any applicant under 17 years of age
applying for a temporary instruction permit must be either a
high school graduate or enrolled in a public, private, or home
school, and maintain a 2.0 grade average.  No permit will be
issued unless proof of compliance with this requirement is
proven by official documentation from the school attended.

Any non-emancipated minor who receives a citation for a moving
violation must return the citation signed by the minor's parent
together with any fine.

The driver's license of any person who operates a motor vehicle
at the time it is involved in a fatal accident will be
immediately suspended at the scene.  The bond for any vehicle
operator who is charged with violating various safety or
hazardous driving offense in which a fatality occurs will be set
at $30,000.
