HB 805 -- Temporary Instruction Permit
Co-Sponsors: Mayer, Richardson
Current law requires parents to provide a minimum of 20 hours of
driver training in order for their child to obtain a temporary
instruction permit and intermediate driver's license.
This bill also gives instructors of persons enrolled in a
federal residential job training program the authority to sign
the application for a temporary instruction permit stating the
applicant will receive 20 hours behind-the-wheel driving
instruction.
The bill clarifies that any person who has a temporary
instruction permit and is a participant in a federal residential
job training program may operate a motor vehicle accompanied by
a driver training instructor.
