HB 812 -- Termination of Utility Services

Co-Sponsors:  Selby, Ward, Thompson

This bill prohibits any municipally-owned utility;
investor-owned gas, electric, water, heating, or sewer utility;
or rural electric cooperative from terminating the utility
service of persons with disabilities, veterans of the U.S. Armed
Forces, persons over 65 years of age, or persons or households
with incomes below the poverty level from November 15 to April 1
each year.  The Public Service Commission is authorized to make
rules to enforce the provisions of the bill.
