HB 958 -- Faith-Based and Community-Based Initiatives

Co-Sponsors:  Kelley (47), Cierpiot

This bill creates the Office of the Faith-based and
Community-based Initiatives Liaison.  The Governor is to appoint
a person to act as liaison between the state and federal
government for receipt and distribution of information regarding
any federal or state faith-based and community-based initiatives.

The bill also creates the Task Force on Faith-based and
Community-based Initiatives.  The task force is to develop goals
and objectives to guide the implementation and improvement of
federal and state faith-based and community-based initiatives
and develop a comprehensive plan of action with strategies for
increasing the faith-based and community-based initiative
opportunities.

The task force is to consist of 21 members, meet at least
quarterly, and submit its recommendations to the Office of the
Faith-based and Community-based Initiatives Liaison, the
Governor, and the General Assembly.
