AN ACT

To amend chapter 208, RSMo, relating to old age assistance by adding thereto one new section relating to the same subject.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Chapter 208, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 208.295, to read as follows:

208.295. Subject to appropriation, the department of transportation shall provide financial assistance to defray the rising cost of gasoline for not-for-profit organizations that provide transportation services to the elderly and handicapped, including but not limited to the Older Adults Transportation Service, Southeast Missouri Transit Service, and senior centers and volunteers that deliver meals to the elderly and handicapped. Such financial assistance shall be earmarked for gasoline costs only or, in the case of volunteers who deliver meals, reimbursement for mileage.
