AN ACT
To amend chapter 9, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to bird day.
Section A. Chapter 9, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 9.150, to read as follows:
9.150. The twenty-first day of March of each year shall be known as "Bird Day", and all teachers, pupils, administration and staff at every public elementary and secondary school in this state are requested to observe bird day by encouraging the study, care and protection of birds through:
(1) Literary exercises devoted to birds, their habits and usefulness, and to the best methods of protecting birds;
(2) The study and observance of the birds in the surrounding area, including the giving of reports on the results of such studies;
(3) The inclusion of any nonprofit children's organization such as the boy scouts or girl scouts in the observance and activities of such day; or
(4) Any other method of observance, as determined by the school board, administrators or teachers in a school or
school district.
