AN ACT
To repeal section 535.081, RSMo 2000, relating to rent recovery by a successor in title, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to the same subject.
Section A. Section 535.081, RSMo 2000, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 535.081, to read as follows:
535.081. The right of a successor in title to recover rents pursuant to section 535.070 requires adequate and timely notice to
the tenant. For the purposes of this section, "adequate and timely notice" means that the purchaser shall notify tenants in
writing of the fact that title to the property has been transferred, and of the means of the transfer [and the date of the
transfer and the notice shall be attached to a copy of the deed which has been recorded]. A copy of the deed by which title
was or has been transferred shall be attached to such notice.
