AN ACT

To amend chapter 196, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the tobacco settlement agreement.



Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Chapter 196, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 196.1073, to read as follows:

196.1073. Any private attorneys' fees incurred as a result of representing the state of Missouri in any tobacco settlement litigation relating to the master settlement agreement entered into by this state and participating tobacco manufacturers on November 23, 1998, shall be paid in accordance with subsection (d) of section XVII of such master settlement agreement and shall not be paid from any proceeds of the tobacco settlement received by the state of Missouri or from general revenue funds.
