Charge:

The Committee is charged with reviewing the investigation and enforcement of applicable taxes as they relate to transient companies doing business with the state, including application of work permits, bonding requirements, workman's compensation insurance and collection of state income taxes.  The Committee is also charged with reviewing the reimbursement of incorrectly collected sales and use taxes pursuant to Chapter 144.010 to 144.510.  The Committee is charges with investigating the fairness and cost efficiencies of various tax exemptions within state law.  The Committee is further charged with investigating the feasibility of a sales tax holiday on back-to-school items in order to stimulate the retail economy and subsequent tax base.
