HB 1141 -- MEMORIAL HIGHWAY

SPONSOR:  Naeger

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of  20 to 0.

This bill designates a portion of Interstate Highway 55 from mile
marker 129 to mile marker 135 as "Trooper James Froemsdorf
Memorial Highway."

FISCAL NOTE:  Estimated Net Effect to Road Fund of $0 in FY 2003,
FY 2004, and FY 2005.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this is the least Missouri can
do for someone who has given his life to protect the safety of
Missourians.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Naeger; Sarah
Froemsdorf, wife of Trooper Froemsdorf; State Highway Patrol; and
Missouri State Troopers Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
