HB 1233 -- MISSOURI DAY SPONSOR: Harding COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Tourism, Recreation and Cultural Affairs by a vote of 9 to 7. This bill changes the date of Missouri Day from the third Wednesday in October to May 8. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that Missouri Day will celebrate the beginning of the family tourist season, the ending of the school year for children, and President Harry S Truman's birthday.
