HB 1745 -- MEMORIAL HIGHWAY

SPONSOR:  Koller

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of 20 to 0.

This bill names a portion of U.S. Highway 63, from the southern
city limits of Houston, south to State Route Z in Texas County as
the "Trooper Kelly L. Poynter Memorial Highway."

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this is the least Missouri can
do for those who have given their life to protect the safety of
all Missourians.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Koller; State Highway
Patrol; Missouri State Troopers Association; Katharine S.
Webster, wife of a fallen trooper; the family of Trooper Poynter
stood in support.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
