HB 1846 -- VILLAGES

SPONSOR:  Scott

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 15 to 0.

This bill changes the semi-annual dates that a village must
publish a financial statement in a local newspaper from March 1
and September 1 to January 1 and July 1.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the dates for city reports in
current law don't match their fiscal reporting.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Scott.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
