HB 2117 -- ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COUNCIL SPONSOR: Boucher COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Critical Issues, Consumer Protection and Housing by a vote of 13 to 0. This bill extends the responsibility of the state to make information technology accessible to persons with disabilities to contracts and grants administered by the state that involve the procurement, development, or upgrading of information technology. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill will ensure that information technology remains accessible to disabled persons to allow them the same opportunities as non-disabled persons.
