Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1520 -- Joint Legislative Committee on Terrorism,
Bioterrorism, and Homeland Security

Davis, Hampton, Selby, Ransdall, George, Haywood, Ross, St. Onge,
Berkstresser

This bill establishes a Joint Committee on Terrorism,
Bioterrorism, and Homeland Security.  The major duties of the
committee will include:

(1)  Studying and analyzing the state government's terrorism,
bioterrorism, and homeland security efforts;

(2)  Obtaining terrorism, bioterrorism, and homeland security
data from state government agencies; and

(3)  Determining the need for changes in laws related to
terrorism.

The committee will make an annual report to the General Assembly.

The provisions of the bill expire December 31, 2007.

The bill contains an emergency clause.
