HB 1805 -- Casket Retailers

This bill prohibits the sale of funeral merchandise unless the
seller has registered with the State Board of Embalmers and
Funeral Directors as a seller or provider.  Funeral merchandise
may also be sold if it is immediately required or if the
purchaser is taking immediate delivery.

If an individual registers as a provider, the bill requires the
individual to submit to the board the name and address of at
least one seller authorized by the provider to sell preneed
contracts in which the individual is named as the provider.

The bill defines the new term "immediate delivery" as it relates
to funeral contracts.
