Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1826 -- Sexually Violent Predators

Co-Sponsors: Hosmer, Britt, Smith, Marsh, Ross

Current law requires either the Department of Corrections or the
Department of Mental Health to inform the Attorney General and
the appropriate multidisciplinary team of certain identifying
information and provide them with documentation of treatment
history and institutional adjustment for individuals who meet the
criteria of sexually violent predators. This bill adds the
requirement that the Attorney General and the multidisciplinary
team be notified about a determination by a psychiatrist or
psychologist as to whether the person meets the definition of a
sexually violent predator.
