HB 1829 -- Joint Committee on Statutory Review

This bill establishes the Joint Committee on Government Review.
The committee is to be composed of 10 members of the Senate, five
appointed by the President Pro Tem of the Senate and five
appointed by the Minority Floor Leader, and 10 members of the
House of Representatives, five appointed by the Speaker of the
House and five appointed by the Minority Floor Leader.

The committee is to review Missouri statutes, programs,
initiatives, appropriations, and governmental entities and
functions to determine their validity and necessity and make
recommendations to the General Assembly for legislative action.

The committee may request staff assistance from the research and
appropriations staffs of the House and Senate, the Committee on
Legislative Research, and any department or agency.  The
committee may, within the limits of appropriation, employ its own
staff.
