Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1858 -- School Board Candidate Qualifications

Sponsor: Bray

This bill revises the residency requirements for candidates for
school board in districts with seven-member school boards.
Currently, candidates must have resided in Missouri for a year
before the election; the bill changes the requirement from
residency in the state to residency in the district and requires
the candidate to be a registered voter in the district. The bill
also makes technical changes and eliminates obsolete language.
