Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 2203 -- Prior and Persistent Alcohol Offenders

Sponsor: Bartelsmeyer

Currently, a persistent offender for intoxication-related
offenses is defined as a person who has pled or been found guilty
of two or more intoxication-related offenses within 10 years of
the intoxication-related offense for which the person is being
charged. A prior offender is a person who has pled or been found
guilty of one intoxication-related offense within five years of
the current charge. This bill removes the 10- and five-year time
limits.
