HJR 56 -- General Assembly

This proposed constitutional amendment requires the General
Assembly to meet on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in
December following a general election for the sole purpose of an
organizational session.  In the session each house will take the
oath of office, elect its officers, adopt its rules, and appoint
standing committees.  No later than five days after convening, an
organizational session must adjourn to the beginning of the
regular session in January.
