AN ACT

To amend chapter 610, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to public access to scientific data used in the promulgation of statutes and regulations.



Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Chapter 610, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 610.205, to read as follows:

610.205. Any scientific documentation, statistics, reports, or research shall be made available to the public whenever such scientific data is used, in part or in whole, as the basis for proposed statutes, regulations, guidance documents, policy statements, official reports, legislative studies, or any other pronouncements that may carry the weight of law or may be intended to lead directly to new regulations or statutes. Any regulations promulgated by the results of such studies shall be justified by pertinent, ascertainable, and peer-reviewed science.
