AN ACT

To amend chapter 217, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to use of tobacco products in correctional centers.



Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Chapter 217, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 217.366, to read as follows:

217.366. 1. As used in this section the following terms mean:

(1) "Correctional center", any institution of the department of corrections where incarceration, evaluation, care, treatment, or rehabilitation is provided to persons who are under the department's authority;

(2) "Tobacco products", cigarettes, cigarette papers, clove cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco, smoking tobacco, or any other form of tobacco products as determined by the department of corrections.

2. Use of tobacco products shall be prohibited in all buildings and grounds of all correctional centers of the department of corrections by July 1, 2003.
