AN ACT
To amend chapter 170, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the display of certain documents in public schools.
Section A. Chapter 170, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 170.018, to read as follows:
170.018. The board of directors of any school district may permit the display of documents that reflect the district's societal, cultural, or religious heritage upon completion of the development of a policy that includes the following elements:
(1) A context for display, whether it is a reflection of historical, societal, religious, or cultural significance;
(2) An explanation of the version of the displayed documents; and
(3) Public hearings of the school board of the permitting school district in subsequent years to receive public
testimony on the appropriateness of the display and require the sponsor of the display to verify that the context
requirements described in subdivision (1) of this section remain valid.
