HB 261, HCA 1 -- HIGHWAY DESIGNATION

CO-SPONSORS:  Whorton, Seigfreid, Moore,

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 18 to 0.

This bill designates the entire portion of U. S. Highway 65 as
the "American Legion Memorial Highway."

HCA 1 -- Designates the portion of U. S. 65 only from the
Missouri-Iowa border south to the Grundy/Livingston county line
as the "American Legion Memorial Highway."

FISCAL NOTE:  Estimated Cost to State Road Fund of $3,376 in FY
2004, $0 in FY 2005, and $0 in FY 2006.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say this will be a fitting tribute to
members of the American Legion.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Whorton.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
