HB 284 -- ABANDONED VEHICLES

SPONSOR:  Crawford

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 19 to 0.

This bill repeals a duplicate section relating to procedures for
the removal of abandoned vehicles on private property.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that there are two similar sections
relating to unattended vehicles left on private property.  The
bill corrects the problem and leaves one clear statute.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Crawford; and Towing
and Recovery Association of Missouri.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
