HCS HB 431 -- MISSOURI STATE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM

SPONSOR:  Smith, 118 (Stevenson)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Retirement by a vote of 10 to 0.

This substitute adds one judge appointed by the Chief Justice of
the Missouri Supreme Court to the Board of Trustees of the
Missouri State Employees' Retirement System.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will allow the judge
from the Missouri Supreme Court to participate in the formulation
of rules, regulations, and decisions affecting the administration
of the retirement system.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Stevenson; Supreme
Court of Missouri; and Missouri Judicial Conference.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
