HB 402 -- School District Professional Development Funds

Co-Sponsors:  Wallace, Davis (122), Dixon, Kingery, Bough,
Hampton, King, Schneider, Shoemaker (8), Crowell

Currently, to qualify for state school aid, a school district
must devote 1% of its state school aid, exclusive of categorical
funds, to professional development.  This bill reduces the
requirement to 0.5%.

The bill has an emergency clause and will be effective on the
later of July 1, 2003, or the date of its approval.
