HB 556 -- Advisory Council on Pain and Symptom Management

This bill establishes the Missouri State Advisory Council on Pain
and Symptom Management within the Department of Health and Senior
Services.  The council will have 19 members who must be appointed
by February 1, 2004.  The bill specifies the terms of service for
the members.  The department is required to provide
administrative support to the council.  The times the council
will conduct meetings and the subject areas the council are
required to examine are specified.  The council is required to
submit an annual report to the Director of the Department of
Health and Senior Services, the Speaker of the House of
Representatives, the President Pro Tem of the Senate, and the
Governor by February 1 of each year.  The bill specifies the
content of the report.  The department is permitted to accept any
federal funds, gifts, and donations on behalf of the council.
