HB 621 -- Recorders of Deeds

Currently, the circuit court of Marion County appoints the
circuit clerk ex officio recorder of deeds.  If the office is
separated into district I circuit clerk and recorder of deeds,
the court continues to appoint the district I circuit clerk.
After August 28, 2003, the positions will no longer be appointed
but will be elected positions.  If the position of circuit clerk
ex officio recorder of deeds is separated, both positions will be
elected.
