HB 732 -- Wrongful Imprisonment

Co-Sponsors:  Dixon, Viebrock

This bill establishes a cause of action for wrongful imprisonment
against the state for persons found "actually innocent" as
defined in the bill after post-conviction DNA testing pursuant to
Section 547.035, RSMo.  The bill requires economic and
non-economic damages to be awarded to these persons.  The
Department of Corrections will be responsible for disbursing the
funds awarded.
