HB 73 -- Higher Education Savings Program

This bill permits a tax-deductible contribution to the higher
education savings program of up to $16,000 annually for married
taxpayers filing jointly or $8,000 for single taxpayers or
married filing separate returns.  Current law permits up to
$8,000 but does not specify a tax filing status.  The bill also
makes a technical change to clarify the tax status of certain
income.
